What an exciting job it is! Planning corporate events can be interesting for several reasons. And profitable as there a lot to undertake and succeed.

The corporate event planners meet many people every day through this job and from different business areas too. That means an event planner meets with different kind of career personalities very often. Now this is interesting right?

Planning corporate events is the new IN nowadays. Planners can design various events such as parties, weddings, corporate, sports, conferences, festivals and so on. From simple events to eccentric using unique shows and amazing entertainers.

Today we will discuss corporate events and what a corporate planner’s job is. Keep in mind that for corporate events, things are done quite differently. A corporate event should look professional within the business line and with a more ‘smart’ operation.

The planner’s role is important and significant to any client-company as the result of the event will define the planner’s knowledge and experience and most important the event’s success. Step 1: Preparation

The event planner makes a preparation on their client’s company before they meet. At the meeting they will discuss all the necessary details to make this event happen, therefore the planner must understand the high demand that the client pursue and make sure that they are able to deliver in perfection. They will complete the meeting with the financial agreement and signing the contract. Now they are ready to start!

Step 2: Understanding the clients’ needs

The corporate planner must have strong communication skills. This is to understand the needs and high demands of the client so they can plan everything in perfection! Each company has specific goals and it is important to bring the client’s vision to reality. After all, the client’s satisfaction is number one priority. Besides the planner’s abilities and skills will define the results of the corporate event‘s success.

Step 3: Take action

Now is the time that the planner starts the procedure and with strategy he or she will make a plan for all the necessary steps that they must take, so they can create the specific event from A to Z in detail.

There are details to take care of such as; the catering, the music, the venue, the appropriate entertainment, the décor and plenty more. It is very important to find the right contacts to work with, for example they must be professional and accurate. The planner will share the duties and be able to follow them for a good coordination.

It’s a good idea also to keep the client posted for their actions, unless the client does not wish to be part of it. In case the owner or the managers of the company is involved with the planning, the planner must also follow the budget of the company and discuss with them all the details because the managers will give permission for every payment is about to happen

Step 4: Confirm everything before the event

Everything goes according to the plan! A last check before the event though is a must. Check that the vendors and caters have the menu ready to be served. Make sure that the entertainers are ready to ‘show’ up on time. Do not forget to check that the equipment is factual, such as the lights and the sound system. And of course the decoration of the tables and the venue in general, if is done properly.

Step 5: Coordinate the event

Everything is planned and the day of the event is finally here! The corporate planner must attend at the event before everyone else does. Dressed in a professional smart outlook and ready to coordinate everything. Checking that everything is going very smoothly and discreetly.

Step 6: Smile

While the corporate planner makes sure that everything operates perfectly and according to the plan, he or she does not forget to smile and be friendly with the guests. Why don’t mingle with the rest and have a glass of champagne. Or two! :)
